Soil of Jaffna not ordinary

Remarks at the debate arranged to mark the Tamil new year and the 125th birth day of Dr.Ambedkar, the first Minister of Law of Independent India

    The soil of Jaffna is not ordinary. This is a holy land. This is a land of literature, a land of thoughts, and a land of knowledge, said Mr. A. Natarajan the Consul-General of India in Jaffna.

    There was a debate arranged to mark the Tamil new year and the 125th birth day of Dr.Ambedkar, the first Minister of Law of Independent India. This event was jointly organized by the Consulate of India in Jaffna and the Cultural Affairs Department of NP at Sankiliyan Thoppu, Nallur. The event was presided over by Mr.A.Natarajan, the Consul-General of India in Jaffna. He made the above-mentioned remarks at this event.

    We all respect Jaffna which has so many prominent literary dons and religious leaders. We have a long historical relationship.

    The umbilical cord that ties both of us is our mother tongue. We should be proud of Tamil language and being a Tamil.
