Lata Mangeshkar Dance & Music Scholarship Scheme (A1209) for Academic Year 2025-26

The Consulate General of India, Jaffna, invites applications from interested Sri Lankan students for the Lata Mangeshkar Dance & Music Scholarship Scheme (formerly ICCR Scholarship Scheme) for the academic year 2025-26. This scholarship, administered by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi, supports studies in Indian Culture, including dance, music, theatre, performing arts, sculpture, Indian languages, and Indian cuisine. Applications can be submitted online through the A2A portal at http://a2ascholarships.iccr.gov.in starting from 20 February 2025.

Eligibility Criteria:

• The applicant should be between 18 to 40 years of age (as of 01 July 2025) for Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses.
• The maximum age limit for PhD programmes is 50 years.

Application Process:

• Applicants can apply to five universities/institutes in order of preference.
• A 500-word essay in English is mandatory as part of the English proficiency requirement.
• TOEFL/IELTS scores may also be submitted to demonstrate English proficiency.
• Additional documents/evidence of knowledge in the specialized field of dance, music, theatre, and art may be required by specific universities/institutes. Applicants must review the respective university websites for such requirements.

Medical Insurance Requirement:

• Personal Medical Insurance is mandatory for availing of this scholarship.
• Students must procure a Medical Insurance Policy with a minimum sum assured of INR 5 lakh per annum before traveling to India.

Application Deadline:

The last date for submitting applications is 30 April 2025.
