HINDI DIWAS- 2024

1. 1. Consulate General of India, Jaffna organised the celebrations of Hindi Diwas 2024 on 16 Sep 2024 at the Jaffna Cultural Centre. The event saw participation from Hindi students of the India corner and Consulate officials.

3. 2. Consul General Shri Sai Murali addressed the gathering and delivered the keynote address during the event. In his address, Consul General spoke about how Hindi was adopted as the official language of India on September 14, 1949. He highlighted Hindi's cultural and literary richness, its role in uniting the nation, and the need to preserve and promote the language amidst the rise of English and other languages in modern times. Consul General while appreciating the students purusing Hindi in India Corner said that learning language helps not only to understand people but also the culture connected with the language.

5. 3. The event saw cultural peformances, dramas, speeches about Indian freedom fighers, singing and dancing by the students of the India Corner.
