Prof. (Mrs.) Dr.Subathini Ramesh, working in the Department of Linguistics, University of Jaffna met Consul General S. Balachandran this morning (05.02.2020) to apprise him of an award that she had received from the World Tamil Sangam, Madurai under the Department of Tamil Development, Government of Tamil Nadu for her work in Linguistics. She shared her joy of being honoured with the award and a cash prize of INR One Lakh at a function on 20 January, 2020 at Chennai through the hands of the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Mr. E. Pazhanisamy.
The Consul General congratulated her, wished her to continue to contribute more in her field and bring more such laurels to Sri Lanka.
