Subject :  Undergraduate/Postgraduate Scholarship offered by

 Government of India -  2013-14

            Applications are invited from eligible candidates for Undergraduate and Postgraduate Scholarships  offered by the Government of India under the “Ayush Scholarship Scheme” for the academic year 2013-14. The fields of study under this scholarship scheme are   Ayurvedic, Siddha, Unani, Homoeopathy and  Yoga.

            The number of scholarships on offer are   08 (Eight) and the  closing date for receipt of the applications  addressed to  Secretary, Ministry of Higher Education, No. 18 Ward Place, Colombo 07   is   July 19, 2013.

            Eligibility conditions for  Undergraduate course are  (i) Applicant should be a  Sri Lankan citizen below 22 years of age as on 19.7.2013 (ii) Passed all subjects in GCE A/L Examination conducted by the Deptt.  of Examinations, Sri Lanka with subjects relevant to the filed applicant intends to apply (iii) Possess a high proficiency in English (iv) Good health and ready to live in India during the period of study (v)  not be employed  in Government or Statutory body (vi) Should not be a student  already registered  or following an undergraduate course at any University or a full time course of study in a State sector Higher Educational Institution and (vii) Gained passes  in Biological Science Subjects at GCE (A/L) examination

Eligibility conditions for  Undergraduate course are  (i) Applicant should be a  Sri Lankan citizen below 45 years of age as on 19.7.2013 (ii) Possess a BAMS degree recognized by CCIM and for PhD applicants must have a MD (Ayurveda) degree recognized by CCIM (iii) Be employed in the Public Sector, University or a State Corporation (iii) Possess a high proficiency in English – credit pass at GCE (O) level (iv) Good health (v)  Temporary/Casual and applicants on Contractual appointment  cannot apply
