Divine Ecstasy – III – 2014
The Consulate General of India in Jaffna in association with the Department of Culture, Northern Province and the India Sri Lanka Foundation had successfully organised three-day Cultural Festivals called ‘Divine Ecstasy I & II’ (Theiveega Suga Anubhavam) in 2012 and 2013 during the annual Nallur Festival in Jaffna. The aim to organize such a Cultural Festival was to provide a platform to students for interaction and environment conducive for learning and also much needed inspiration from the internationally renowned artistes for charting a better future in their career of fine arts.
2. This year the Consulate in association with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations, New Delhi, High Commission of India, Colombo, India-Sri Lanka Foundation and Ministry of Education, Cultural Affairs & Sports, Northern Provincial Council, is organizing a two-day Cultural Festival “Divine Ecstasy – III” scheduled to be held in Jaffna from 24-25 August 2014.
3. Renowned Bharatnatyam exponent Ms. Lavanya Ananth and renowned vocalist Mr. T.V. Ramprasad will perform and organise workshops for the students in Jaffna and all those interested in Indian classical vocal music and dance. In each workshop students from different schools in the Northern Province, Ramanathan Academy of Fine Arts and teachers of University of Jaffna would be participating.
