Gandhi Jayanti/ International Day of Non-Violence

To coincide with Gandhi Jayanti and International Day of Non-Violence, the Consulate General of India in Jaffna in association with the Ilankai Gandhi Seva Sangam is organizing a Debate (Pattimandram) on Monday, 2nd October 2017 at 5 PM at Veerasingham Hall, Jaffna.
2. Dr. G. Gnanasambandan, an Accomplished Speaker from Tamil Nadu would be presiding over the Pattimandram and prominent Speakers from Sri Lanka viz. Prof. T. Velnamby, Mr. S. Laleesan, Mr. N. Vijayasundaram, Mr. R. Sharveswara, Ms. Priya Vincent Peris and Ms. K. Thayalini will be participating at the Pattimandram.
3. Gandhi Jayanti is observed every year on 2nd October to commemorate the Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. Incidentally, the celebrations of Gandhi Jayanti is not only confined to India but also observed by the United Nations as the International Day of Non-Violence.
